Smart Compose in Gmail

Hello,

At the beginning of the month, I did a post about some of the new features to Gmail, including the "smart reply" feature which had canned responses ready for you to use when you reply to an email.

Well, imagine my surprise today, when I am typing away in Gmail and am asked "want to try smart compose?".  Of course I did!

So, what is it?  Smart Compose is Gmail's predictive typing feature.  Per Google, this feature uses artificial intelligence to help you draft your emails faster.  As you are typing, Google will "suggest" phrases and sentences for you to insert into your email.  It will show up in the body of your message as grayed out text; if you want to use it, just press the "tab" key and it will automatically insert that text.

Want to give this a try?  Go to your Gmail settings, and under the "General" tab, turn Smart compose on:

Happy composing!
